Ray Nargis

Ray Nargis is an award-winning poet, short story, and non-fiction writer who grew up on a horse ranch in Michigan but now calls Ely, No_Image_Available.gifMinnesota home. His work has appeared in newspapers, magazines, and anthologies. He received his undergraduate degree in journalism from Central Michigan University and a master’s in creative writing from Michigan State University. Ray is a founding member of both the Stone Circle and Beach Bards poetry groups. He has performed as an oral poet and storyteller for more than twenty-five years. He is also the host of The Pathways, a popular Sunday morning radio program on WELY 94.5 FM in Ely. He divides his time between the rivers and lakes of northern Minnesota, a cabin in Ontario, and visiting his sons in San Francisco and Chicago.
