Ray Nargis

Ray Nargis is an award-winning poet, short story, and non-fiction writer who grew up on a horse ranch in Michigan but now calls Ely, Minnesota home. His work has appeared in newspapers, magazines, and anthologies. He received his undergraduate degree in journalism from Central Michigan University and a master’s in creative writing from Michigan State University. Ray is a founding member of both the Stone Circle and Beach Bards poetry groups. He has performed as an oral poet and storyteller for more than twenty-five years. He is also the host of The Pathways, a popular Sunday morning radio program on WELY 94.5 FM in Ely. He divides his time between the rivers and lakes of northern Minnesota, a cabin in Ontario, and visiting his sons in San Francisco and Chicago.
